On the 18th of October, the Value Plus Association organized for the first time in Bacău the human exhibition “Keep your freedom!”. More than 30 volunteers exposed for several hours several scenes representing other forms of human trafficking in the Arena Mall of Bacau. Through this event, we wanted to highlight the fact that in the society in which we live, such cases take place at the turn of the day, and that anyone can become the target of people who want easy money.
The event was not only for the audience, but also for the young people who decided to get involved in this activity. We have decided to relate some opinions offered by volunteers:
“For me, it was a unique activity, I do not think that citizens have ever tried to raise awareness of trafficking in human beings. I “fortunately” interpreted a character that was not trafficked or trafficked. I mean, after the first 10 minutes I was thinking how people can do such things? Forcing some people to prostitute, work, beg and so on only to live a luxurious life and to have a lot of money.”
Abortulesei Daniel Claudiu
„The event was for me a very beautiful experience that I would repeat at any time. I really felt that the message came to the people who looked at us and so we reached our goal.”
Cocianga Daria Lidia
„For me it was a challenge, it was something I have not done before. If an activity like that was going to happen, I would like to participate with the greatest pleasure.”
Martha Rusu
„It was an extraordinary event and I’m glad I was part of this great project.”
Denisa Tamaș
„It was an extraordinary experience because I was challenged: stay still for two hours with short breaks. It’s hard enough because I just felt my arms and my body shaking, I did not feel anymore, but I’m glad I accepted this challenge. People have finally seen what’s happening in our city and not only. As our coordinator said, “If you do not see, it does not mean it does not exist”, so I hope that the community has also made up for the seriousness of the situation. On the other hand, not only to stay still was a challenge, but also the thought that my friends, my family, a large part of the city will see me in a place that can not be decent, having the role of a prostitute. But I realized I was playing a character, and it must look as real as to be credible to people. It did not matter that I was photographed, that some laugh or others compassionate me, misunderstanding my desire and pleasure to volunteer. At that moment I count that I do what I like, and I do it with love, changing something in the community through this manifest.„
Pintilie Oana-Isabella
„It was a truly new opportunity. I do not have the chance to attend events like this every day, especially as a volunteer. I liked the idea very much and it was a great pleasure to get involved in the first human exhibition in town.”
Cartaș Răzvan
„We volunteers, we felt good. For all it was a unique and unique experience. We are glad to have done this, but more importantly, we are glad that we have drawn attention to this subject and did not let this day go unnoticed. Thank you for giving us this opportunity. I was a beautiful team and I personally hope to get involved in the same formula and other activity.”
Briana Georgiana Olteanu
„I found it super. It seemed a bit dubious at first, but when I noticed the world that really seemed interested in what we did, I felt “proud” in a way. It was a beautiful, a little tiring experience, but I would do it again.”
