Press Release – National Fathers Day

Sunday, May 8, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Value Plus Association invites all dads with their children two hours of fun Cancicov Park, the green space to the right of the main lane (near the playground for children).

According to the law adopted by the Government in 2009, our country celebrates Father’s Day on the second Sunday of May. Therefore, this year the event will be celebrated on 8 May.

Value Plus Association supports and promotes the necessity of paternal presence in the healthy development of a child. It is not enough just to be the father, but it is imperative for him to come and engage in an active way in all that involves the relationship with children and their upbringing and education. The Father is a crucial character that affects child development, either by implication or by disengagement.

The purpose of the event on the occasion of Father’s Day is to increase awareness about the responsibilities of a father and its impact on growth, development and harmonious formation of his children. No entry fee will be charged, nor for activities organized during the event.

Event objectives:
• Awareness of the public about the importance of Father’s Day in Romania;
• Motivate fathers to take a more active role in raising their children;
• Motivate mothers and children to express their appreciation to fathers;
• Involving dads with their children in fun and creative activities;
• Create a community of “ambassadors” who will promote the role of fathers in family and society.

The values promoted by this event are:
• Family as defined by God a man and a woman with their children;
• Parental responsibility for childcare in all areas;
• Time spent in cooperative activities (fathers and children together);
• meaningful dialogue between a father and child.
